Sapa Hard Trekking

This four days  trip offers a chance to explore the most stunning area of Sapa district which is under protection of Hoang Lien Son nature reserve. Trekking from 6 to 7 hours every day you will follow foot paths up and down mountains, through forest, terraced rice paddies, crossing river and water streams by suspension bridges… from village to village of different ethnic minorities including H’mong, Zao, Tay, Xa Pho,.. paying visit to local homes, witnessing daily life activities and especially village home staying will bring the interesting insight of local life.

Get started:

Taxi take you to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train at at 9:15 PM to get to Laocai Station. Sleep on the train.

Day 1: Lao Cai - Sapa

Picked up at Laocai Station by bus to Sapa (round 7.30 AM). Check in hotel & breakfast. Free to explore the town.

Day 2: Sapa - Giang Ta Chai - Seo Trung Ho village, 17 km  by car, 15 km trekking, round  5 hours of trekking. (B,L,D)

Breakfast at the hotel,  take a car ride along MuongHoa valley to visit the Rattan Bridge, silver waterfall, the first village of the Red Dzao people (Giang Ta Chai village). Do a trek round 6 – 7 hours through the forests up and down in Fanxipan range then reach Seo Trung Ho village of the Red Dzao. This is an almost untouched village and there are very few tourists getting here.  In here, there is a chance to enjoy a most beautiful waterfall in Sapa which comes from a height of about 70 m.

Stay overnight in this village with a Dzao family.

Day 3: Ta Trung Ho - Ban Ho village, Round  17 km trekking in the forests. (B,L,D)

Have breakfast with the family, start climbing up to the mountain for another untouched village: Ta Trung Ho village located at about 1450m above the sea level. Picnic lunch at the village and then descend BanHo village to visit a different minority: The Tay people who have houses on stilts.

Stay the night at Ban Ho village in a house on stilts. Have dinner with the family.

Day 4: Ban Ho - Supan - Sapa - Lao Cai, 4 hours trekking of 10 km and 23 km by car. (B,L,D)

Break fast at BanHo, Go for a walk to a waterfall called Lavie which was discovered and named by the French in the past. Say goodbye to BanHo and the family to get up to Supan village where to take jeep back to Sapa. Have hot shower at the hotel and then take bus to Lao Cai Station for the night train to Hanoi. Tour finishes.
